Don't
read if you want to see it for yourself in June and don't want spoilers before
the end!
The story starts in a little room. We see a bed, with a night table next to it (maybe you see some boxes in the front from moving). Halfway the bed there is a window, through which you can only see the sky.
Something moves in the bed and the little
girl in bed comes slowly upwards, sleepily. She looks at the light shining
through her window and she crawls to the window, in her bed and looks out of
it.
Outside the window we are zoomed in on her
face, she looks amazed and looks around. From a point of view we look left.
Left we see houses that are close to the 'sea'. (All the houses have different
colors). There's a bird that flies over the street and we follow it in some
sort of turn, we see the back of the bird and because of that we see the
colored village below him.
Again we see the girl, and she's looking
happier by the second, we see her watching the bird fly out of sight to the
right. With a point of view we pan slowly back to the girl's own house again.
She looks down. There's a total shot of the house of the front, we see the girl
hanging from her window and we can establish the house is white, inbetween all
the colored houses.
(Description of the street; colored houses,
houses have a lot in common except the color and some eccentric details in which
they differ, through the middle of the street flows a small channel, and this
can be crossed with a little bridge. There are curled streetlanterns, flowers
hanging from the windows, there are wooden chairs in front of the houses, bikes
parked in front of the houses, and more plants decorating the houses.)
Title.
Next the girl steps out of her house. She
looks up at the other houses and then to her own white house, and again she
looks at the other houses and back to her own. Her face tells us that's she's not satisfied. Her face lights up when she comes up with a solution.
(Meanwhile there's life on the street,
people are walking by, some domestic animals etcetera).
She turns around and looks out over the
street, she smiles. She starts walking, we see a shot of her feet moving and we
see her face brighten up with every house she sees from up close. We see point
of views of her watching the houses. She sees a blue house, a pink one, purple,
brown, yellow, green, orange, all sort of colors. At the end of the street she
sets foot on the little bridge. Halfway she leans on the banisters, she looks
across the water and sees all the houses reflected in the water, shining
brightly. She sees the sea in the distance. In the image of the street her
white house stands out, she looks at it dissapointed. Then she looks at the
little paint shop across the bridge, a few steps ahead. (we can see it's a
paint shop because of the bronze signs outside, with a paintbrush and a bucket
and because of the title of the store)
She looks one more time at her house and
back again to the shop. She takes one step back away from the banisters and
walks to the little shop.
As she enters the shop a bell rings. She
nods to the shopowner behind the counter and looks doubtfully at all the
buckets with paint. (The shop is old and authentic from inside, it looks a
little bit like the wand shop from Harry Potter, except there are shelves with
lots of paint, old paints and new paints, and lots of brushes).
There is a short silence, in wich the shop
owner waits for the order. The little girl hesitates as she sees all the
colors, and then she steadies and points at one bucket happily. The shopowner
takes this one of the shelve, but the girl looks doubtful again, but then again
she points resolutely at another bucket. The owner takes this one too. There's
another silence and all of a sudden she points happily at all the buckets in
the store in a fast movement. The shop owner looks shocked and perplexed.) Got deleted, while working, it's not necessary to show.
Next we see the girl shuffle to her house,
weighed down by several buckets of paint and paintbrushes. She's almost there.
In front of her house she puts the buckets down carefully and arranges them.
With several zoom-in shots we see how she pulls the lids off. With frog (eye)
perspective we see her getting up after opening all the lids and she puts her
hands on her sides bravely and looks up at her house. There's one other look
from behind her, looking up to her and the white house.
There's a point of view from the house, we
see the girl dipping the brush in one bucket and getting up, then she starts
painting wildly, over the camera. (fade to black, because of this).
We see the girl with her hands on her sides
once more and see her taking a step back, observing her work, at first she
wants to look proud, but then her mouth corners sink and her hands fall from
her sides, and her shoulders bend. We see a total shot from the house, looking
at the back of the girl and the house is a mess.
Different colors of paint are dripping over
each other and at some places it has turned into very dark brown spots, the
paint also drips over the windows.
Sideways we see her head bending low, then
there's a point of view and because of her head turning to the ground she
finally sees her dress. She takes her dress by the hands and pulls it slightly
forward. Her dress is ruined with all the colors and she looks even more sad.
Dissapointed she sinks to the edge of the
path, the boundary between the water and the street. Her feet (that are full of paint spots aswell) dangling in the water. She starts splashing around a bit. While she is lost in thought we can see that she is splashing her feet clean. When she does notice she is surprised and rubs her eyes disbelieving. She stretches her legs and looks at them better, her feet are clean in comparison to her dress. She smiles as she gets it and then she gives herself a small push and jumps in
the water.
Underwater all the colors swirl of her
dress, we see the colors dissapear, she grabs for them like they're soap
bubbles.
Then she looks down at her dress and it's
bright white again, she shines. She looks up and sees the sun shining through the
blue of the water, making her more brightly white then ever. (There will be a pov where we see the surface of the water and the sun shining through, there will be a small prisma, suggesting that she had color all along, because in white light all the colors are combined.) She smiles happily
at her dress that is back to normal.
As she surfaces again and looks at her
house, there is a determined look on her face. And there is one final look of
behind her, looking at the still dirty house.
In the end titles we'll see a bright white
house again, and she's decorating it from inside with curtains and plants (all
the wile we see the house up front), next to her house there will be credits
and stuff.
