GRADUATED!

And all of a sudden 2 weeks have flown by.
On june 21st I graduated ! Officially I got my diploma on june 28th.

The screening and exposition in school were very fun, I got lots of positive criticism. It was also very nice to share these moments with my family and friends and finally show them the result of 7 months work.
Last wednesday was the last day of the exposition, thursday my class and I went to the Efteling (amusement park in the Netherlands), it was lots of fun and yesterday it was time to clean up the last things in school.
Now it's officially over and I feel kind of weird about it. But I have tons of ideas, so I will be okay in the end I think.

But first I'm going to rest and sit on a boat all weekend and lie in the sun and read.
I will update this website with a short trailer/teaser and a new showreel shortly.

You'll be hearing from me :) but thought it was time to update you with the fact of my graduation ;)

Sneak preview

It's stress time, only 2,5 weeks left, so that's why I haven't updated in a while ;)
Have to keep on working in order to get it finished, late nights and early mornings.

I just thought I'd share a little animation with you, just to give you a preview and a sneak peak.
 I don't want to spoil you too much with time lines and finished animations, otherwise the surprise isn't as fun, right?

Yesterday I handed in my time locked version of the timeline, for the sounddesigners. They've already sent some demos, and I can assure you it will be good :)
The sounddesigners that will be helping me out are; http://www.soundbreeders.nl/
They've already worked on some awesome animations and other videos, games and apps.

It's so weird to be curious for the result myself aswell! But I am curious, I'm really looking forward to when this will all be over, because I will be able to see how I finished it in the end ;)

Anyway, I'm going back to work, because the deadline keeps creeping up fast.

I'm hoping to see you all on the 26th of June in the Chassé Theatre in Breda (Claudius Prinsenlaan, 13.00u - 18.00u) and from 29th of June till the 3rd of July on my school St. Joost in Breda (Beukenlaan 1, 11.00u - 17.00u)

Backgrounds

Long time no updates, I thought it was time for a new one.
There are only 6,5 weeks left till my graduation and I'm really stressed. I'm doing the best I can, but it's hard work. I've been skipping weekends and I miss my home, where my parents live and the cat. But I just have to remember that in 6,5 weeks it will be over and I want the best result possible, the best I can muster.

Anyway I think it will work out, I should not think about everything at once, doing things step by step keeps me calm and it's way more sufficient then stressing. I just try to think of the phrases; you can't do more then your best and if it can't be done the way it must, it must be done the way it can... And so much can be done in 6,5 weeks, I'm sure of it and it will work out.

I've made a decision about the backgrounds, I want them to be aquarel painted and here's the first example;

It's not fully finished, but I'm getting there and I'm quite pleased with it. Some stuff is added with my tablet, but I'd like the overall feeling to be aquarel.

Besides I'm working on an underwater animation. The dress of the girl is quite hard, it should be pushed upwards by the water, just slightly, and she should float more and in her twirl she should move upwards just a little. Here's some sort of sneak peak of what I have untill now. ;

Apart from this we have to hand in some sort of essay in 3 weeks, and a draft tomorrow, so that will be fun.
I wish I could just focus on animating for a while, work would be done so much faster.

Anyways, I'll try to keep you posted more often, hopefully you like it so far :)

Animations added

Few animations added to the moving storyboard

And did some other lightning tests for her bedroom.. But I'm not sure what I should do with the lineart.. Hopefully I can find a solution quick, I do want it to look nice in the end, and I don't want to start of with lineart that's not okay and realize it when I'm halfway done or so...

Meanwhile I'm busy with painting the island in aquarel.. Hope it works out the way I'd like. Will probably be a collaboration between real brush and computer art.
